Dr. Polzien grew up in rural Iowa near Wall Lake. His pre-optometry studies were completed at Buena Vista College and the University of Northern Iowa. After service in the U.S. Navy he graduated from the Illinois College of optometry. He began practicing optometry in 1966 at the Lincoln Vision Clinic and in 1979 he joined the medical staff at Nebraska's first staff model HMO (then known as Health Central and later as Health America and Mutual of Omaha Health Plan). Upon closing their optometry department in 1996, he opened Elegant Optics.

Brian L. Adam, O.D. Brian L. Adam, O.D.

Dr. Adam is a native of southeastern Nebraska who specializes in primary vision care, pre- and post-operative care, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, contact lens fittings, and low vision. Dr. Adam graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry in May 2004. Prior to optometry school, he graduated from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in May 1998. He is an active member of the Nebraska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association and is a member of Sheridan Lutheran Church in Lincoln. In his spare time Dr. Adam enjoys many activities including basketball, volleyball, softball, golf, hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
